XSL-FO external-graphic Object
Definition and Usage
The <fo:external-graphic> object is used for images where the data is located outside the <fo:element> tree.
An <fo:external-graphic> can be placed within a closed block-level <fo:block>.
The "max-height" or "line-height" of "line-stacking-strategy" is typically used for stacking one or more lines of <fo:external-graphic> content.
