The HTTP protocol generally refers to HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol).

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (English: HyperText Transfer Protocol, abbreviation: HTTP) is an application layer protocol for distributed, collaborative, and hypermedia information systems. It is the most widely used network transmission protocol on the Internet, and all WWW files must adhere to this standard.

HTTP is designed for communication between web browsers and web servers, but it can also be used for other purposes.

HTTP is a protocol based on TCP/IP for transmitting data (HTML files, image files, query results, etc.).
