Eclipse Search

Search in Workspace

The Eclipse Search dialog allows users to search for files using word or letter patterns within a specified workspace. Alternatively, you can search within a specified project or by selecting a specific folder in the Package Explorer view.

You can invoke the search box through the following methods:

• Select Search or File or Java from the Search menu

• Press the shortcut key: Ctrl + H

File search allows users to search for all file types, whereas Java search is specifically for Java files.

For example, to search for the usage of the Person type, you can use the Java search page:

• Enter Person in the search box

• Select Type in the search for radio buttons

• Select References in the limit to radio buttons

• Click Search
